Switchgear

At InElektro you will find everything in the field of switching material: not only all types of switches, but also plugs, sockets, dimmers and the necessary mounting material and cover plates. Home automation also falls under switching equipment. You can choose from products from top brands and are therefore assured of high quality and sustainability.

Why buy switching equipment online

Online shopping has many advantages:

  • Do your shopping when it suits you; also late at night and on weekends
  • You can easily compare prices
  • You can see at a glance what you need to get your job done
  • No queues, no parking costs and no travel time
  • Your order will be delivered to your home

At InElektro you can also choose from a very wide range of switching materials and you can also find all kinds of other supplies. For tools, for example, but also for wire and cable, wall ducts and lighting. Useful! You don't have to go to different stores to buy your necessities, you can find everything in one place. Orders from €100 incl. VAT are delivered free of charge and it is also possible to collect your order at our collection point in Veenendaal.

Help with choosing the right switching material

Whatever your plans, we can help you choose the right switching material. Maybe you are going to renovate your (new) home and you want new sockets everywhere. Or do you want to draw up a completely new plan within your company, including wall ducts and cable ducts for neatly concealing cables? You will find a lot of information on our website, including product specifications and tips for additional supplies. This way you can be sure that you have everything you need for your switchgear renewal.

Customized advice is also possible. At InElektro, a professional team is ready to answer your questions via chat, email and telephone: 5 days a week during office hours.

Choosing the right switching material is just as important as choosing the right lighting in the home and, for example, the choice of color in the kitchen. If you are not yet tied to a specific brand in the home or business, it can be very nice to opt for a different color scheme. For example, a different color compared to the walls, but perhaps in the same color as the spotlights or the tap. This way you can play with light and color! Be guided by what you like and then look at the model; round, rectangular or maybe you go for super sleek. Finally, you look at the required functionalities. Of course, you also pay attention to safety, especially if there are young children in the house.

Replacing a wall socket

It is a common job: replacing a wall socket. What do you need for that? To start with, a built-in socket, with or without child safety. You also need a cover frame. You need a flush-mounted box in the wall itself into which the new flush-mounted socket can be placed. If it is a normal connection, you will need a blue and a brown connecting wire. If it is a grounded socket, also a yellow/green connecting wire.

A frequently asked question is:
"Can I just replace the cover of the switchgear?"

In most cases the answer is negative, partly because it is not wise. All parts are subject to wear and if you only replace part of the socket, you no longer have insight into the quality of the whole. It's just like an old car: you can have it repainted, but it remains an old car that will have defects. Is the switching material not yet really old and do you want to replace the caps? Make a note of this on the group cupboard card. This way you know exactly how things are going and you can replace switchgear in a timely manner.

Functional and stylish switching material

Switchgear must of course work well and be safe, that is above all else. But if that functionality can be combined with a stylish appearance, that is a bonus. InElektro offers plenty of options for this! You can even turn your wall socket into an eye-catcher. We also offer all kinds of solutions for invisibly concealing cords and cables using wall ducts and cable ducts. If you choose LED lighting you can play with color and use dipped light. Also very stylish for the bathroom and bedroom.

With smart lighting from Plejd and Eco-DIM you can furnish your home and office with light switches that are operated in a new way. If you are sitting comfortably on the couch, you can control the light with the app. Are you with your hands full? Then just use your voice. Great for at home but also very useful in the office and in shops. You can easily edit, automate and make your lighting preferences accessible to employees.

What brands of switchgear are there?

At InElektro you can buy switchgear from well-known A-brands. We have already mentioned Pjeld's smart products, but there is more:

  • ECO-Dim universal dimmers
  • ION LED dimmers
  • Switchgear and accessories OPUS (also waterproof)
  • Merten
  • Gira
  • Jung
  • Busch Jaeger
  • Niko waterproof
  • Viko waterproof

Very varied range of switching materials

Of course, you can contact InElektro for all common switching materials, such as a wide range of switches and sockets plus accessories. But you have also come to the right place for more special products:

  • Waterproof switching materials for outdoor use
  • Socket with ground pin
  • CEE plugs and boxes
  • Safety switches
  • Charging point for electric bicycles
  • Twilight switches and motion detectors

Built-in vs. surface-mounted switchgear

Various types of circuits are available for connecting electrical installations and lighting: push buttons, special washing machine switches, pull switches, dimmers and also motion detectors. Some are built-up, others built-in.

The difference between the two is quite simple: built-in switching material is completely concealed in the wall, you only see the socket or switch and the cover plate. This is the more stylish variant.

A surface-mounted switch is mounted on the wall and in that case the pipes are often visible on the wall. You often see this in sheds and warehouses.

Types of switches

When it comes to switches, anything is possible. Below are a number of more special versions:

  • Double socket or socket + switch in one flush-mounted box
  • 1-pole switch; 1 lamp at 1 point
  • 2-pole switch; 1 point but in a damp room or the outdoor lamp from home
  • changeover switch; 1 lamp from 2 locations, for example near the stairs. The alternating pull switch is a variant of this with pull cord operation
  • Series switch; 2 lamps from 1 location; There is also a variant: the change/change switch with which you can operate 2 separate lamps at 2 locations
  • Combination switch; 1 lamp from 1 or 2 locations + socket
  • Double changeover switch; 2 lamps from 2 (or 3) locations. You start with a changeover switch (max 3 pieces) and then you need a changeover switch.

Switchgear for outdoor use

Electricity and water (rain) do not mix and therefore outdoor switchgear must meet additional safety requirements. Do you want to buy switching material for outdoors? InElektro has a wide range of brands Niko, Viko, Kopp and Opus. Outdoor switchgear is intended for garden lighting, automatic irrigation or, for example, for the electric barbecue or a water feature. At InElektro you will also find the necessary materials for mounting outdoor switching equipment, such as an outdoor cable (above ground) or a ground cable (underground).
