WHEN IS EMERGENCY LIGHTING NECESSARY?
In workplaces where workers may be exposed to particular hazards if the lighting fails,
or spaces where there is little or no daylight. Emergency lighting (at least 10% of the normal lighting intensity) must be present at these workplaces. The emergency lighting must come on within 5 seconds and remain on for at least one hour afterwards.
